In order to build the grassroots for the youngest and give them the chance to be at the spotlight in a world stage, the Pan American Taekwondo Union, leadered by President Ji Ho Choi and the Secretary General Rick Shin, will launch for the first time ever a competition that will give the chance to prepare for their future high level competitions.
The 2020 Pan Am Grand Slam will take place at the Oregon Convention Center, located in Portland Oregon USA, this April 10th to 12th, for the divisions youth, cadet, junior and ultra for kyorugi and poomsae.
One of the things to highlight of this event, is that will award wild cards to all top 4 winners at the youth, cadet, junior and ultra divisions for the next 2020 Pan Am Championships that will be held in conjunction with President’s Cup, next may in Spokane, Washington. Also the top 4 winners will earn a second wild card for the 2021 Pan Am championships on the same divisions. This means that for instance if there is one winner from Mexico, at this Grand Slam, at youth 6-7 years male under 19kg division, Mexico Taekwondo Federation still will have one spot at the same division for the Pan Am Championships held in Spokane Washington this year. That means Mexico will have 2 athletes competing at the same weight division.
Also there will be Senior competition (not G-rank event), and besides kyorugi and poomsae athletes will be able to compete also in board breaking and demonstration team.
Here, you will find 2020 Pan Am Grand Slam Taekwondo Wild Card Championships package with all the details you need to know. This is an open event to all ages.
