According to Rick Shin himself, current Secretary General of PATU and organizer of the event, “We have exceeded 1000 participants! This is the largest US World Open Taekwondo Championships! Participants from Korea, India, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Senegal, Brazil, Iraq, Nepal, Mexico, Japan, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Guatemala, Haiti and New York, Oregon and Florida have confirmed.”

The event will be held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.

The modalities will be kyorugui (sparring), poomsae (forms), kioppa (breaks) and competition between demonstration teams.

The host hotel is the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton, in Portland, OR
