The event will be held from the 27th to October 30th 2016, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon.
The Championship is level G2 which accumulates 20 points for the ranking under WTF and level G1 for Poomsae, adding 10 units to its corresponding ranking.
At the same event they will come into play all categories of competition in sparring and poomsae.
One of the great characteristics that this Championship offers is that, the winner in the Cadets and Junior categories will receive a “Wild Card” or free pass to participate in the 2017 Cadets and Juniors Pan-American Championships. This means in the next continental event of these two categories , to be held next year, a country may have more than one representative in the same category as long as they win the Presidents Cup.
The event will feature electronic protective system (chest guard and head gear) Daedo Gen-2, which is the same system that was used at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. The socks will be sold in the same Championship.
They are already confirmed delegations coming from Mexico, Canada, Colombia, and a lot of different cities from United States will join, and where we can already see who are favorites.
A big bet of the Pan American Taekwondo Union, who seeks to bring the continent one of the largest international event.
