Fujairah Open 2015 briefing

United Arab Emirates - 2015/02/06 - Iranian taekwondo athletes claimed three gold, silver and bronze medals in the 3rd Fujairah Open underway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is WTF-sanctioned event ranked G-1.

Farzan Ashourzadeh defeated Si Mohamed Ketbi from Belgium in the -58kg weight category to win the gold medal.

The joint bronze medal went to Iran’s Abolfazl Yaghoubi Jouybari and Belgium Salaheddine Bensaleh in the weight class.

In the -80kg, Farzad Abdollahi claimed the silver medal, being defeated by Aaron Cook from Isle of Man.

Mohammed El Hatri and  Richard Ordemann, both from Norway, won the bronze medal in the class.

The tournament, a WTF-sanctioned event ranked G-1 and which is held every year, has brought a total of 550 athletes from 50 countries together and around 1300 spectators daily.
