The official document states that the court order arrest must be executed against Yajaira Peguero and Disnancy Polanco for having thrown acid on Mercedes´ car.

The incident took place on September 6, 2014 when Mercedes´ car was parked in front of the Dominican Republic Taekwondo Federation facilities located at the Centro Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte in Santo Domingo.

“I never thought two teammates could have done something like this.  To throw acid on my car and to threat a friend for telling me about the incident is annoying.   This is not personal.  I just want Justice to be served and they take responsibility for their acts.  This is something that is against Dominican sport” said Gabriel Mercedes to MasTKD.

“I have never damaged anyone, not inside the Taekwondo environment neither outside.  I hope this situation is clarified soon.  I went to Justice so the persons responsible for this act pay as Justice dictates” concluded the Olympic Silver Medalist during his conversation with MasTKD.
