According to the official page of the WTF, the 5th edition of the World Para-Taekwondo Championships will be held in Moscow, Russia. The dates for the Championships were confirmed to June 21-22, 2014 in a meeting between WTF President, Dr. Choue, and RTU President, Mr. Terekhov held during the Paralympic Games in Sochi.
During the WTF Council meeting and General Assembly to be held in Chinese Taipei, March 18 and 19 respectively, new classification rules, competition rules and standing procedures for the Championships will be deliberated and passed. All Kyorugi athletes (limb deficiency) have to go through classification. Classification will be conducted June 19 and 20, 2014. The final schedule for each team and athlete will be presented to each team after registration has been completed. Accordingly, all teams should schedule to be present for classification.
The 5th WTF World Para-Taekwondo Championship will see the introduction of Para-Taekwondo Poomsae for Intellectually Disabled athletes. Intellectually Disabled (ID) athletes require INAS provisional eligibility as seen on the INAS Master list. Applications for INAS provisional eligibility shall be made through the INAS member organizations. In the case that a WTF MNA does not have an INAS member organization the application for provisional eligibility can be processed through the WTF. We ask that you get this process started as soon as possible as it can take INAS up to 30 days to process your applications. For more information see the following links:
All athletes to participate in the Championships have to be Global Athlete Licence holders. The procedure for GAL and registration for the championships will be sent out in the Invitation and Outline packet for the event.
