As per bna.bh, Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Sports Affairs Executive Director Jehad Khalfan had a coordination meeting with the Bahrain Martial Arts Association (BMAA) and reviewed Bahrain’s preparations to host the 12th Bahrain International Takewondo Championship.
The event is scheduled to take place from February 28 to March 1 and will be under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports general secretary and BOC vice president Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa.
At the beginning of the meeting, Khalfan affirmed the committee’s keenness to contribute to make the championship a great success and promote Bahrain as one of the leading nations in hosting international sporting events.
During the meeting, both parties named a team from the two sides to provide logistic services and all other facilities related to the championship.
They also discussed latest arrangements made for the 40-minute opening ceremony, to be held at Khalifa Sports City Gym in Isa Town. The two sides also reviewed all financial issues for the event.
Khalfan said the BOC will present financial aid for the tournament in an attempt to contribute to its succession, and in accordance to the available resources.
Other issues highlighted at the meeting include a special publications to be printed just before the start of the championship, as well several other recommendations aimed to complete all arrangements in time for this major international championship.
The meeting was also attended by BOC Sports Associations Affairs director Hesham Al Belooshi, Sports Associations Affairs executive coordinator Hamad Al Baker, Corporate Communication executive coordinator Hamad Al Baker, Sports Associations senior administrator Mohammed Salman, BMAA Taekwondo director Khalid Al Hassan and BMAA technical director Tawfeeq Nuwaiser.
