As per an article posted at observer.org.sz, local artists Sanele Ginindza and Sithandile Dlamini are now amongst those ranked by World Taekwondo Federation (WTF).
The artists have competed in a number of international events including the All Africa Games’ where they both brought back bronze medals.
They are ranked in the top 100 bracket in their respective categories namely under 67kg and over 67kg.
Dlamini is ranked 79 out of 400 artists while Ginindza is positioned 94 out of over 300 artists.
In the men’s category, Bheki Nkambule is ranked 245 out of 457 in the Under 68kg while Mbongeni Ndo Sibandze is placed 250 out of 438.
The artists were ranked following their participation in the World Taekwondo Championships held in Mexico in July.
Worth noting is that they are ranked in the top 20 bracket in the African Taekwondo Rankings.
When interviewed on the rankings, Ginindza said being ranked by the international mother body was an achievement to her.
“Being ranked by the WTF is an achievement to us as artists and also the local association. I do hope there will be more local artists to be ranked,” she stated.
