As part of the presentation, olympic taekwondo gold medallist, Jade Jones, was present in Coventry to cheer on the 428 people, to claim a Guinness World Record of the largest taekwondo display, as per an article posted by itv.com. The champion had planned to take part in the display at Broadgate herself, but had to pull out due to injury.
The previous record was held by SAHK and the Eastern Dragon Taekwondo Federation Hong Kong, who had 338 people in their demonstration. The record is now held by Taekwondo UK. The group gathered in Broadgate to set the world record. A certificate for the record was handed over to Stuart Pearson who was the organiser of such event.
