Taekwondo at the World Police and Fire Fighter Games

The World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) is a biennial athletic event where Taekwondo will be present in Belfast, Northern Ireland from August 1-10, 2013.



These World Games are open to active and retired law enforcement and fire service personnel from around the world, attracting approximately 10,000LOGO_WPFG-2013 participants, slightly fewer than the Summer Olympic Games.

The Taekwondo event at this year´s World Police and Fire Games will take place from 6-7 August at the Shankill Leisure Centre in Belfast.

There will be two competition styles in this event:  Poomsae and Kyorugi and shall adopt a WTF model in both format and official rules.

According to statements from the organizers they hope that this event will serve to help stimulate and develop the growing interest in the WTF Competition within the World Police Fire Fighter Games.  For that reason, in order that every competitor gets an opportunity to compete to their full potential, the organizing body has included A Class and B Class division in Poomsae, and an Open 4th Kup + competition in Kyorugi.
