The 2013 WTF World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships is scheduled for late November of this year, but once again there still no place to carry it out
Initially the host country was Senegal, then Gabon (See: Changes in the 2013 WTF World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships host country) and now the World Taekwondo Federation has sent a letter signed by its Secretary General, Jean-Marie Ayer, requesting collaboration to all Member National Associations (MNA) because Gabon failed to meet the requirements from the WTF.
In the letter, the Secretary General said: “The WTF has decided to open a bid process again for the 2013 WTF World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships to ensure interested and eligible MNAs have chances to apply for hosting this event.”
On many occasions we have witnessed changes in dates and venue of certain events and it can be seen how this seriously affects those countries with low financial resources that must plan and must present their budget in advance in order to get approval to be able to participate.
The Junior Pan American Championships is a good example: this event has neither exact date nor exact venue, making it nearly impossible for the different teams to project a plan and make a budget to participate.
For the WTF World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships, the WTF have advised the MNAs interested in hosting, to keep in mind that the competition dates have been fixed for November 28-30, 2013 for three competition days.
“Considering very tight timeline, please submit the letter of intent by no later than April 30, 2013…”
