The Hellenic Taekwondo Federation has informed that Mr. Michael Fysentzidis, ETU Vice President and current Secretary General of the Hellenic Taekwondo Federation, has been elected Vice President of the International Olympic Academy and Dean of the Panathenaic Stadium in Greece.
The Panathenaic Stadium is the most ancient stadium in use in the world, which hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and the starting point of the journey of the Olympic Torch relay route to the cities which hold the Olympic Games; be them Winter, Summer or Youth.
The Hellenic Taekwondo Federation expressed that this appointment confers recognition upon the Greek Taekwondo Family, while reinforcing the presence of taekwondo in the Olympic Movement.
Morover, it confirms the great development of Taekwondo not only in our Greek, but also on an international scale, under the leadership and guidance of WTF President, Dr. Choue.
