Jade Jones heads GB squad for the World Championships in Mexico

The North Walian, who turned 20 earlier this month, is part of a 11-strong Great Britain squad who have been chosen to travel to Puebla between July 15 and 21.

“This is our first major championships since the fantastic performance by our athletes at London 2012,” said GB performance director Gary Hall.


“It’s also a great opportunity, at the start of this new ‘Rio cycle’, for some our young and exciting talent to compete alongside more experienced team-mates and to make their mark on the world stage.


“We’re in good shape after some very encouraging performances at the Opens and we’re looking forward to a great World Championships in Mexico.”
