Athletes from Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama will compete for the Central American Games. These Games are held every four years in Central American cities chosen by ORDECA (Central American Sports Organization, founded in 1972 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee).

 

Within ten days Taekwondo will take action on the Gymnasium Liceo San Jose in Barrio Mexico, located at just three minutes from the center of the capital, competitions will take place in one single area, which will be elevated in the center of the stadium and will accommodate 760 people.

 

For the development of the combats the electronic system PSS will be used as well as the Video Replay. There will be eighteen International Referees from the participating countries, plus the support of Canada, Mexico and the United States. This arbitral team will be led by Myung Cham Kim, Director Referee of the Pan American Taekwondo Union.

 

Weighing regulation will take place on March 14th and subsequently competitions will be divided as follows:

 

March, Friday 15: FIN, BANTAM, LIGHT and MIDDLE (Male and Female).

 

March, Saturday 16: FLY, FEATHER, WELTER and HEAVY (Male and Female).
