It is known that the World Taekwondo Federation has a lot of interest on the Swiss Open which is one the most important Open Championships in the world, therefore it has generated more official announcement making the World Championships Para-Taekwondo to take over on the same date.

The WTF new offices and the International Olympic Committee headquarters are located in the city of Lausanne. The Open will be one month before the World Taekwondo Championships, Puebla 2013, where the WTF elections will take place. Consequently, Dr. Chungwon Choue (President of the World Federation), as well Jean Marie Ayer (Secretary General), are keen to hold a meeting in Switzerland before the Assembly of Puebla, and with the confirmation of the World Championship Para-Taekwondo it will surely increase the call of the members of the WTF Executive Council.

Regarding the sports theme (which for the present authorities it will totally be secondary), it is worth mentioning that this will be the fourth version of the World Championships Para-Taekwondo, an event that will have athletes with different disabilities in the upper body. The last third version took place in Aruba with a total of 53 athletes from 14 countries. The participating countries were: Azerbaijan, Spain, Mongolia, Brazil, Russia, France, Guatemala, Iran, Croatia, Canada, Finland, Australia, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
