Interview with Louise Van Der Vhee from Netherlands Poomsae Team

We talked with Louise Van Der Vhee from the Netherlands Poomsae team for the 7th WTF World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships 2012.

Mastaekwondo.com is already in Colombia for the 7th WTF World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships 2012, at Tunja, Boyaca City; we talked with one of the members of the Netherlands Team.

This year the Netherlands Poomsae team comes with: Louise Van Der Vhee, Rachel Van Der Vhee, Danielle Van Der Steen, Thom Van Der Klundert, Sebastiaan Henskens, Angelique Schoenmakers, Rob Janssen, Piet Wolffs, Ata Alavi, Mieke Tapia and Marcel Vossen.

We talked with Louise Van Der Vhee and this is what she said to us:

Hello Louise, what is the Netherlands National Poomsae Team expecting for this World Championship?

“For this Championship we have a great team, I expect to make the final with the Female Team and for individual, I hope to make the semi final. The expectations from the others are higher too I think they will go for it and do their best to make something good of it; with the final round in their minds.”

Do you think that there is any difference to have the World Championship at the Pan am Region?

“I don’t know if there is a difference, what I know is the good thing about the Poomsaes in the rounds, for example Taeguk 6 in the final; so other people will get also a chance to get a medal.”

What do you think about the Freestyle Poomsae Category?

“The free Poomsae category is awesome. Because we know all the Poomsaes, and this is something new and special. So I think it’s a great idea to have this in the future.”

Do you like Colombia?

Bogota is a big city, is very big. We went from Amsterdam to Paris, then from Paris to Bogota. And after Bogota we went by bus and that took 3 more hours. So i’m exhausted because for me it’s 5 o’ clock in the morning. And yesterday I was up at 3 o’clock in the morning. But it’s ok. It’s difficult for me to breath here, because it’s 2800 meter high, I’m not used to it. But it’s going to be alright. We have a nice hotel. And tomorrow I hope to see beautiful things here. The people are gentle, but I already knew this. Thank you Mastaekwondo for this interview and your work on developing our loved sport.”
