The Olympic Team trainer of Finland, Jesus Ramal from Madrid, was invited by the Krasnoyarsk Taekwondo Federation (Siberia, Rusia) during the week of the 30th of September to the 7th of October to travel to Siberia to meet with coaches, to visit different taekwondo clubs and to observe the first “Kids Siberia Championship” (a competition for the different regions of Russia for young athletes and new referees to initiate in the competition.)
During the first days of Ramal’s visit to Russia several training sessions were held in different clubs of the Krasnoyarsk region to study the current situation. All the coaches and athletes showed their enthusiasm and motivation for the new project that is being organized. Meetings were held with the President of the federation, with coaches, sponsors and with the local television to explain the new system that will be developed in this region of Russia.
“Because of the long distance from Siberia to Europe, the Krasnoyarsk Federation discussed the possibility with me to create a training center in Spain, more precisely in the “Hankuk International School” in Madrid in order to do continuous training camps and to be able to attend different competitions such as the German Open, Spanish Open, Belgian Open etc. taking notes on the athletes performances and after doing specific trainings based on the observations made (video analysis and statistics.) We would take care of the logistical support, specialized trainings and that way the athletes can get more experience and compete more often and assist different training camps in Galicia, Madrid, Murcia, Scotland, England and Switzerland. This will be the base of the exchange project with the Krasnoyarsk Taekwondo Federation with the talented athletes of the area.” Commented Jesus Ramal.
“It’s a very ambitious and gratifying project which is a great challenge for me, I am happy to be able to share an international proposition with my friends from Krasnoyarsk.” Continued Jesus.
