The Zambia Taekwondo Federation (ZTF) has urged its athletes to sharpen their skills if they are to be part of the team that will represent Zambia at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
ZTF general secretary, Leah Namukonde, said in Luanshya yesterday that the national taekwondo governing body will only select committed athletes with great potential to win medals.
Namukonde said the onus is on individual athletes to work hard during tournaments and their free time to avoid being left of the team.
“The selection of the team for the Commonwealth Games will be very competitive that is why we’re appealing to our athletes to work extra hard,” Namukonde said.
