Sebastien Michaud, Francois Coulombe-Fortier and Karine Sergerie were officially named to the Canadian team Friday.
All three come from Quebec and the announcement was made in the heart of the province’s capital city, on board a gently swaying tourist boat.
Sergerie won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
She is currently ranked No. 2 in the world in the under-67 kilogram weight class by the World Taekwondo Federation.
It is also the second Olympics for Michaud, who finished in the top 10 in Beijing.
He was the first Canadian man to represent Canada in the sport since it joined the Olympic program in 2000.
