LAJUST - WTF0

Court rejects LaJust request for injunction against WTF

Letter from the Secretary General of the WTF, Jin Suk Yang.

Dear Colleagues,

I send my warm greetings to you and your associations.

As most of you are aware, at the end of June 2011, the Seoul District Court accepted a request by the company LaJust for an injunction to prohibit the use of any Protector and Scoring System (PSS) other than that of LaJust at the World Qualification Tournament for London 2012 Olympic Games, which was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Later, LaJust made a similar request to the same court for a second injunction, this time for the Taekwondo Test Event for London 2012 Olympic Games scheduled for Dec. 3-4, 2011, and for the 2012 WTF World Junior Taekwondo Championships scheduled for April 4-8, 2012. It was also requested as part of the injunction for the court order that no other PSS than LaJust PSS should be recommended for WTF sanctioned events.

I am pleased to advise you that the Seoul District court decided to reject the above-mentioned request by LaJust for second injunction. The WTF was given notice of the court’s decision on November 28, 2011.

This favorable decision indicates that we are on the right track, and we will continue to work to the best of our ability for the development of taekwondo.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the continued integrity, patience and trust that you have shown to the WTF.

Sincerely yours,

Jin Suk Yang

Secretary General
