Pakistan wins 9 medals in international taekwondo

Pakistan has won 9 medals in two different taekwondo international events held in South Korea from September 2-13.


According to information provided by the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation, the national team won two silver and three bronze medals in 6th Korea Open International Championship and got one silver and 3 bronze medals in the 7th Gyeongsangnam-Do-Goveror International Championship.

In the 6th Korea Open, held at Seoul from September 2 to 7, Syed Adeel Shah won silver medal in individual event of welterweight while silver and bronze medals were won by Javed Akram, Asiya Batool and Najia Khan.

Najia Khan won silver medal in the women’s middleweight category of the 7th Gyeongsangnam-Do-Goveror Championship held from September 9 to 13 in the same city. Pakistan won three bronze medals in the men’s event of this championship through Javed Karim, Naveed Khan and Syed Adeel Shah.
